In connection with the entry into force of the Act on Higher Education in the System and in Science, as a result of the procedures for training for the doctorate. Silesian University of Technology and a group of scientific institutes in our region established a Doctoral School, an institution organised as a form of training for doctoral students. An agreement to this effect was signed at the Silesian University of Technology on 30 May.
The agreement on the abduction and operation of doctoral schools under the name "Joint Doctoral School" was signed by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Arkadiusz, and the Directors of Materials and Development Materials from the region - the Central Mining Institute, the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Academy of Sciences and the Centre for Polish Polymers and Coal of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Signed agreed, inter alia, The scope of responsibilities of the equal parties, the rules for recruitment, independent and independent students of educational schools and the possibility of access to it from new institutions and from the common school. The parties agreed that the coordinating body for the work of the doctoral school will be the Silesian University of Technology.
Those who hold the professional title of Master, Master Engineer or equivalent may be admitted to the Doctoral School. Recruitment will be carried out through a selection process, so it should be an elite school.
The goal of the sites is to begin training at the School of Natural Sciences on October 1, 2019. The recruitment period runs from July 1 to September 25.
